Meet Jelena – Your Hygienist Warkworth
Hi, I’m Jelena Knezevic, Oral Health Therapist and Owner of Your Hygienist Warkworth.
Originally from Belgrade, Serbia, I moved to New Zealand in 2001. Back home, I worked as a registered nurse, a role I loved. But when I arrived here, I realised I wanted to do more than continue nursing. I wanted to change the way people experience dental care.
Like many people, I grew up dreading dental visits. When I moved to NZ, those experiences didn’t improve, they just got more expensive. So I made a bold move: I trained as an Oral Health Therapist. It was partly curiosity, partly survival, and a lot of passion for working with people. What started as a clever workaround quickly became my calling.
At Your Hygienist Warkworth, my mission is simple: To treat every patient the way I always wished I’d been treated... with compassion, humour, and a generous dose of topical anaesthetic.
Whether you're in for a deep clean, a whitening treatment, or just a chat about your oral health, I tailor each plan to suit you. No lectures, just gentle, effective care and a few laughs along the way.
I graduated from AUT in 2009 with a Bachelor of Oral Health and have worked across both public and private clinics ever since. Over the years, I’ve met some amazing colleagues, and now I’m proud to lead Your Hygienist Warkworth, a place where your comfort, confidence and smile come first.
